Return to Members Home PageINTERNATIONAL KINESIOLOGY COLLEGEAbout the IKC and IKC faculty The International Kinesiology College is the governing body for each and every Touch for Health Association around the world. It's purpose is to maintain the ethics and consistency in the process of teaching Touch for Health. In addition, the IKC faculty representatives are persons certified by the IKC to present the ITW (Instructor Training Workshop) and educate potential instructors how to teach Touch for Health, as well as record keeping, marketing techniques, listening skills, and much more. The IKC faculty is also responsible for keeping Professional Instructor's education updated, by way of the ITW update. IKC Policy for continuing education for Professional Instructors Persons who have taken the Instructor Training Workshop from one of the IKC faculty must follow these requirements to maintain their instructor's certification · Take the traditional 2-day (15 hour) update within three years of their original certification Note: Any instructor who has not taught 15 students within the 3 year period of the ITW must also take an update course. Additionally, any instructor who has waited more than 5 years to update their education must take the complete ITW over again.
Note: In addition to the courses counting toward the update requirements, the highlighted courses can b e taught as new mini-workshops.
Touch for Health Professional Instructor requirements To maintain certification as a Touch for Health Professional Instructor and CEU provider in the U.S. the following requirements MUST BE ADHERED TO:
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS- for Nationally Certified Massage Therapists, RN's, & LPN'sTFHKA is an approved provider for Nationally Certified Massage Therapists and RN's and LPN's (See #7). Should Instructor's wish to apply to their home state or other state entities for providing Continuing Education Credits in an area not covered by TFHKA, the office will provide support to those persons in any way possible. Massage Therapists- TFHKA is approved form the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider # 050467-00. This allows all qualifying instructors t o give continuing education credits to nationally certified Massage Therapists for their certification renewal. Continuing education certificates for students are kept on file in the office for a period of 7 years. RN's- TFHKA is approved by the Board of Registered Nursing in California, Continuing Education Provider # CEP 13015, for RN's and LPN's in all states except Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota and Wyoming. Instructors in those states can apply directly with the appropriate state-licensing agency to provide continuing education credit to nurses. Certificates are kept on file in this office for a period of no less than 5 years.
"Provider approved by the California Board of registered Nursing, Provider number CEP 13015, for _______________ contact hours." · Advertising must also have a refund/cancellation policy (including time lines), a clear, concise description of the course content and/ or objectives and the provider name stated as it is officially on file with the Board of Registered Nursing (Touch for Health Kinesiology Association). Classroom hours must be more than one hour, no maximum or classroom hours per level and nurses receive 1.2 hours of CEU credit per one hour of class room time, ie 16 hours of class time equals 19.2 credits. |
