INTERNATIONAL KINESIOLOGY COLLEGE

About the IKC and IKC faculty

The International Kinesiology College is the governing body for each and every Touch for Health Association around the world.  It's purpose is to maintain the ethics and consistency in the process of teaching Touch for Health.

In addition, the IKC faculty representatives are persons certified by the IKC to present the ITW (Instructor Training Workshop) and educate potential instructors how to teach Touch for Health, as well as record keeping, marketing techniques, listening skills, and much more. The IKC faculty is also responsible for keeping Professional Instructor's education updated, by way of the ITW update.

IKC Policy for continuing education for Professional Instructors

Persons who have taken the Instructor Training Workshop from one of the IKC faculty must follow these requirements to maintain their instructor's certification

·        Take the traditional 2-day (15 hour) update within three years of their original certification

Note: Any instructor who has not taught 15 students within the 3 year period of the ITW must also take an update course.

Additionally, any instructor who has waited more than 5 years to update their education must take the complete ITW over again.

  • After completing at least one update and having taught at least 15 students within the e-year period (with roster and evaluation forms on file in the office) the instructor may take the following courses to apply toward their update:

  • Top Ten Pain Releasers by Arlene Green- 7.5 credit hours

  • Starting in 2002, having met the minimum requirements, instructors are eligible to count the Touch for Health Annual Conference as half (7.5 credit hours) of their continuing education. Two TFH Annual conferences count as a full update.

  • If the instructor, having met the minimum update requirements, does a presentation at the Touch for Health annual conference, the instructor can count 3 times the amount of time of their presentation toward their continuing education, ie, 1-hour presentation time equals 3 hours continuing education.
